My suburban has rotted out front floor and toeboard areas. Has anybody used the full floor and toeboard patch panels availiable from several vendors? The floor panels are for a truck but look like they could be adapted to a suburban.

Are you talking about the complete floor assembly? Also when you say the complete toeboard, do you mean the toeboard and firewall combined? I have just finished installing the toeboard and two front floor halves. The mount holes in the floor pieces were located incorrectly.

51 I am in the process of using patch panels on the floor, toeboard and cowl of my 49 sub. I bought the cowl panels from Chevy duty and had to do a lot of cutting and fitting to get them to work. I bought the floor and toeboard panels from LMC and it looks like the same deal. The floor panels have the Tiawan sticker on them. I think all these patch panels are made in China no matter who sells them and in my limited experience they will all have to be altered to make them work. Also on mine I didn't use the entire panel only what was necessary. Weeds

The panel I am inquiring about is the complete floor assembly (both sides and all supports) I have seen this in brothers and chevy duty, it could be elsewhere also. I also need toeboards but not the firewall. Any input is appreciated.

I have not seen the "new" complete floorboards installed at this time, but I do have knowledge of the "one piece left and one piece right" combination floor/toe pieces from Taiwan........don't buy them if you want to retain the original look. They fit poorly and they do not have the seam that you would have if you had two pieces as original. They do not include the additional raised supports for the brake, clutch and gas pedal. They don't have the proper holes necessary to install the e-brake pedal and other misc holes required for original installations. They are designed to fit all trucks/suburbans/panels etc. If you just want a simple quick fix, they might work for you. I have a set and my floors and toeboard are also in need of repair. That's my summer project. I was disapointed to see the poor fit of these panels. I have not decided which way I will go now.

From what I have heard about the one piece firewall that includes the toeboard panel, it's pretty close to original specs, but the owner has not installed it at this time. If you choose to install the one piece truck floorboard, be aware that it is different in the suburban at the seat riser, you will have to do some sheet metal fabrication to make it work in your suburban because of the two piece seat arrangement. .........g

I don't know anybody that has used that yet. I see it turning up on Ebay and I wonder if it is like the new metal front fenders, "will be available soon"! The other versions that I have seen are the combination ones above, and also the single types, like I used. Even the kick panels have to be reshaped to work. One thing for sure, the more information that you have on the original, the better. That may mean keeping one side in place while you are doing the other side.

The seat riser area is different in the sub as you know. The pickup uses about a four inch riser that forms the lip of a tub. All the weightof the front seat is carried at four attachment points about two inches in from the rockers. Therefore the middle of the floor does not carry passenger load directly. However, the panel and sub are different than that.

Take a look at these guys, they have pictures that work. Not a reccomendation but a source for pictures of the items you may want. They have the patch panel pieces l/r and they have the complete floorpan and complete firewall/toeboard. .......g

Has anyone used or seen the floor patch panels installed that Brothers and other vendors sell which includes the toeboard? I have been looking at getting that design with the toeboard already attached, as its just one less weld for me to screw up on! If anyone has used that design (or not) the feedback on how they work would be helpful. Thanks!
