My (future) wife told me yesterday that she wants a "family SUV"...blah...

She wants either a Foreign or a F**d. Disgusting.

I told her that the old burbs were pretty average sized, and that would be an awesome "SUV" (as she calls it).

What do you guys think about burbs as daily drivers? Any of you do that?

Thanks for the input.

I drove mine daily for almost three years. Right now its doing bad things so I've put it on restriction.

One thing to think about... Guys are always walking up to talk when they see mine. The wife might get more attention than you like if she is driving a burb.

My wife is the reason I have my 49 Burb. As we were driving out of the Chevy dealer with her third Suburban she gave me the evil eye and said "You are not going to trash out this truck by haulin junk in it like you did the last one. You need to buy a beater truck". What's a guy to do? Two months of internet search produced a 49 Burb in a junk yard in Oklahoma. Three years late it is almost on the road. So my advice is spend a little more money to get a good driver, do whatever is needed to make it safe and dependable before putting the wife in it. Good Luck

I currently own two 1988 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburbans. I have owned a 79, 82, and a 90. I would prefer a 60-66 for myself, but I like the versatility of my 4 door newer ones. I use mine to haul my tools, pull the car trailer and such. If need be I can haul the kids too. I tried to convince my wife we should get a early 50's one, but she likes her 88 too much to give it up.
PS- I fix the four letter "F" words all week, that's why I drive GM!

Well, she said I could get one, and she tried to trick me. She said "if it has power windows" - done

"if it has A/C" - done
"if it has automatic everything" - done

she then got frustrated and JUST OUT OF SPITE, said "if you put a f**d emblem on it"

then I gagged and curled up into a ball.

Oh well, maybe if she knows *MOST* of those things are possible, she might give in grin grin grin

Well you could put the calvin peeing on ford emblem. Then it would have the ford emblem.

I am not picky about vehicles. I just like them to be different.
