The truck is a 1952 half ton.

The hub is the center part that goes over the spindle. It contains the bearings and inner grease seal.
The drum fits over the hub,,usually held on by a couple rivets.
The spindle is the "axle" that all this mess slips over,,held on by the spindle nut and cotter pin.

I'd caution that paying much for the 5-lug drums plus doing a good brake job might mean you are spending as much as the disk conversion would cost.

I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble... | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 299 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 299 | I just did that myself.I picked up a pair of hubs and bearings ,complete off a 51-54 chev car.They use the identical inner and outer bearings(that gives me spare bearings). I paid $15.00 for the pair.Previous to that a friend of mine gave me complete 57 chev car backing plates,brakes,springs cylinders and hubs with drums ,,all new for free.I used the brake shoes and drums and spring kit. The hubs and wheel cylinders wouldn't fit.Apparently the drums are the same for many different applications but the hubs you need are 51-54..
