Bought a real nice all original 55 GMC. Nothing butchered except the radio. They made a face plate out of wood to accept a modern radio. Anyone make a face plate I can use to accept a modern type radio. I really don t want to weld in a patch on the dash.

Thanks...........

If it,s a second series they make a patch to repair that with. It is for Chevs but I don,t know if it fits GMC also.

If you get a shaft mount radio they come with a face plate & usually fit in the original opening. They are getting hard to find now. Most of the ones at swap meets don,t work. I,ve got a bunch of shaft mount type faceplates if you want one. I tested all my old radio,s & through out the ones that didn,t work right. I kept the hardware & faceplates.
