Nothing butchered except the radio. They made a face plate out of wood to accept a modern radio. Anyone make a face plate I can use to accept a modern type radio. I really don t want to weld in a patch on the dash.

It is for Chevs but I don,t know if it fits GMC also. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 23 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 23 | I know about a patch what about just a face plate/ | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | If you get a shaft mount radio they come with a face plate & usually fit in the original opening. They are getting hard to find now. Most of the ones at swap meets don,t work. I,ve got a bunch of shaft mount type faceplates if you want one. I tested all my old radio,s & through out the ones that didn,t work right. I kept the hardware & faceplates. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though.
