The forks have been replaced along with the slider gear and cluster gear. The shift arms have been ajusted and new rubber bushings install, what could be the problem? | | |

The spring behind the detent may be broke or weak. I have stretched them out before. Check the grooves for wear also. If it,s been o-hauled I take it the bearings are good. In rebuilding my 3 spd, I was able to find some new gears to install, but also had to try alot of "good" used parts before it was right. Good detents and forks help, but if the inner shaft doesn't mate up perfectly inside the drum gear, it still seemed to jump out. Lots of slop in the bearings and gears ain't good either. The whole thing needs to be as tight as possible.

Make sure the shift arms are correct on the splined shift forks shaft, the shift rods are adjusted properly, and the shifter box and shift bushings on column aren't worn out. and thats no bull shift
