I have been told that they should, but now I am seeing a thread to not go 16.5. Any thoughts on this? Thanks Steve | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 197 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 197 | Nice, Pacers based on your description there. I was wondering if standard chevy or ford ones would work, basically I want the truck about 3 in shorter than it is and that would be the easy way to go. Also the cheaper way too. | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 67 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 67 | Hi,
IMHO, avoid 16.5 inch wheels, use 16 inch instead. No manufacturer sells vehicles with 16.5's anymore and replacement rubber can be up to twice as expensive as 16 inch. I am speaking from recent experience in this area.
Good luck.

The only current vehicle using that size rim is the Hummer H1, and the newer ones are starting to use 17s. Most 16.5s currently being made are the oversize off road mud tires. 16 or 17 would be a better option.

The brake drum seems much larger than 16". Is that just a back spacing issue that I can fix with spacers? Anyone do this before. | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 | I'm running 17.5" wheels on my NAPCO. Try finding rubber for that size! Ouch. | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 31 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 31 | Hotshoe36, I have a 1953 Chev 3/4 T. and have been looking for similar wheels as in your picture. Was wondering if you could offer any leads on where to find some reasonably priced steel wheels--? (You have a great truck--still working on mine as can afford it.) Thanks, T.K. | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 91 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 91 | I just recieved today my new 8 lug steel wheels with .50 offset. These wheels fit my 50 3/4ton. Im gonna post pics and company info tonight, hopefully before the morning.
So if any one still needing modern 8 lug wheels with stock appearance look for my post bright and early. I should have it done by then. | | |
