My question is can I use the original rear brake lines? I have been told that the proportioning valve has only one line to the rear and on for each side of the front brakes, is this true? Do I need to make new brake lines for the front? Another question please forgive me for asking so many. The rear brakes have self adjusters, but if you need to adjust them, remove the wheel and drum and punch out the slot in the drum, you can then adjust the brakes through the slot. You can use the existing rear line for a disc conversion. I usually run new lines to the fronts from the proportioning valve.

The drums may have been changed also if they don't have the knock outs. You can drill and file out a slot. I don't think that there would be a slot on the backing plates as the suspension components are in the way. You should be able to buy the springs and the self adjuster parts from a parts store.
