For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 24 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 24 | I am looking for some photos of what a 1960 fleetside should look like. I bought this 1960 but this guy at a local truck shop here thinks it may have the wrong hood on it. This 60 truck has the single headlights is that correct? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 8 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 8 | go to the gallery and look at some images | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | The '60 has quad headlights, as does the '61. '62-'66 has single headlamps. Hood is the same for '60-'61, then '62-'66 use the same hood for those years. They do interchange. Can you post a pic of your truck?

I will attach some photos when I get back into town. I needed to set this post so that it would send me an email when someone responds. I did not do that up front. I think I have figured out how to link the photos to the forum. I am not computer guy at all. still learning.... | | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 75 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 75 | I know the feeling. LONGBOX55 told you right; '60 and '61's had quad lights as did '58 and 59's. '60's had twin-pods in the hood with the park lights centered in the pods. My first pickup was a '60 Chevy Fleetside, 6-cylinder. Wish I had some pictures to share with you but I didn't keep it long, maybe 6-months or less. Let my baby brother talk me into taking his '65 Fleetside, 283 O/D and giving the '60 in trade. Motorbooks, now MBI, put out a nice Chevy truck book in the Crestline but with slick pages and really good photos. Maybe someone close has a copy that they will let you look at.
