I am hoping someone can help me. I have a perfectly working regulator in my 39 chevy. the problem is my stainless strap is broken. I cant seem to find just the strap. Has anyone fabricated one or know anyone that can fabricate one of these.

I just installed my front crankout window, and crank last week. I would bring it to a reputable welding shop, they should be able to tig it together. The problem is, the weld effected zone may not hold up over the long haul. Look for a local metal fab shop. They can laser cut that in no time out of stainless. It may be cheaper and quicker to find a good used one on ebay.

There is a guy in Central NY that has a few regulators for 41-46 if they're the same. I could ask if he has one.

tig welding is not an option it seems to be missing a piece but thanks for the input. Dan if you could ask that would be appreciated greatly. thanks

Mine was broken at the windshield end. I just squared off the end and made a different bracket. I guess the windshield does not open as far now by about 1/2"

I believe 39 is the one year that is different from all of the others. 36-38 are the same, 39 stands on it's own and 40-46 are the same. They look basically the same, but some mount differently because of the dash configurations.
