I've been wanting a cool project car for 20 years. What a woman!). The guy that I bought it from said that it was a '65. It had no grille and a '65 hood. I just ran the vin and found that it's a '60. I'm kind of bummed out. Oh well...
Having finished my crying, I'm ready to ask my question. Can I put a '65 grille on a '60?

The cab and the chassis are different. 60-62 has a rare chassis used only those years and is hard to get parts for and expensive. Upgrading suspension requires fabrication. The wrap around window cab was used 60-63. The hoods with the pods were 60-61. On the brighter side, the IFS torsion bar suspension with that chassis and rear coils give it a terrific ride when in good order with fresh shocks. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 46 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 46 | We have a '60 and the torsion bar suspension lets you set the ride height in minutes. Plus I think the hood and grill are way cooler than the later models. You will have something unique if you want to go back to the origial look. The lower ball joints are the only thing that is real expensive when replacing compared to other years parts. | | |
