All – Just an FYI for anyone who’s buggered up there shaft for there steering column.
I’ve had my steering wheel off a few times and I’m sure the PO too, and the shaft got a bit worn out. So Last night I ran out to the local hardware store and matched the nut up to a bolt. It turns out to be a 1/2 - 20 thread count.
This was great information to me, simply because I could then pick up the correct tap and die set the chase the threads on the shaft.

Now it’s as good as new. Just thought I’d share, because that’s not listed anywhere – not even in the resto-pack I got from GM.

Take care,
HC
