Bolters, just wanted to share my experience form my first car show. It was a small town fair with about 100 vehicles, and no I didn't trophy, but I did bring home the grand prize, a rebuilt 350 engine. So first show and first time I've ever won anything!, and I forgot to stop and buy lotto ticket. Never can have enough motors, now just getting my other projects ready to receive motor. Another note: when the grand prize number was called the first time, and nobody claimed the ticket, so after playing the jeopardy theme they called my ticket number. Still pinching myself.

a lot better then winning an award for sure..you never know about the shows.. the best part is meeting other folks.......maybe picking their heads for ideas......

What a great first show. Thats great!

Cletis and I went to a local cruise nite here in the big city of Mineral Wells Texas two weeks ago. There were no trophys or 50/50 pots, but there were several great folks with a common interest.... "Old Cars-n-Trucks" cool

That is great. I also like going to the local "cruises" instead of car shows. Just small car shows really with no prizes...just old cars and old car folks.

I went to two shows in the last three months, and one "great big block party." The first two restricted the entries to no vehicle younger than twenty five years ago. The third one let anyone in. We won trophies (sadly, no 350) at the first two, and didn't even place at the third one that was peer judged. We were parked near a monster truck and a 2006 Scion! There were about 200 older vehicles in it, most thirty-yarders. Point is, check out the restrictions, if any, before you journey out to a show. We learned a great lesson from the 10-block party. Here's our entry--lots of help from the 'Bolt.
