Any newer wiper motors that will work on a 41.

You could try a wiper from a Subaru wagon rear window,you will have to shorten the arm a little.

Somewhere I read about a guy that widened the wiper system from an old VW Beetle. It would be similar to the Newport Engineering system.

25 years ago I had the individual motors in my 1947 Dodge Pickup. They were pathetic. But then again I bought them from J.C. Whitney.

And how ya gonna power them or are we talking about a hot rod here???? What's a Newport Engineering system?

I found in my search that most of the new motors would easily fit the trucks that had the wipers from the bottom but not at the top as our trucks do. I ended up buying the 12v electric kit for my truck (mine only has driver side wiper) from ACT. It fit nicely in the panel and the cover could be used. Many will actually protrude past the cover or you need to make a custom cover to fit. The one they sent had an on/off switch on it which didn't make much sense to me since there would be a cover over it and that is how they advertised it to be able to fit properly. I had used a headlight switch in place where the old throttle cable was (still used the throttle knob so it would look more original) and just left the motor in the on position and worked it off the switch. Good is that it works...bad is that it is loud as heck and there is no returning to home for the wiper. You have to time it while shutting it off so the wiper will stop out of view. I do not think I would recommend anyone buying that unless they first saw someone else's setup that is the same and could see if they liked it.

There may be other options out there but I could not find one. I had looked into the vw option because it was talked about so much but found that it would not fit behind the panel right.

Let us know how you make out so others might be able to do the same.

OH...and if you are trying to stay 6v I guess your options would be very limited in what you can find for replacement. I think ACT has the same kit I bought for 6v too...

Hampton Coach has wiper kits for $45.00 a side motor 12v or 6 v arm and blade . that is what is bought for my 1946 chevy pick-up.thanks

wow...that same kit sells for $85 at ACT. It shows that it sticks into the cab though. Did that happen with yours as well?

The 12v electric motors from Jim Carters, about $65 each will fit under the covers, just hook them to the reostat switch they have. Each motor has it's own switch on the back, just leave them in the on postion and grind off the knob a little and they will fit. I used the blank covers and put the switch in the upper corner of the drivers side. Thats what I have in my '46
