I am finding it difficult to locate resources who really know the differences between the 3000 and 4000/6000 Series. Was/is the 270 a good motor? What about the tranny? Does the 4400 use same body panels, doors, fender, hood, bumper, etc. This is not a COE but a HD flatbed.
Help!

If it is a 270, someone probably swapped it in when the car motor the truck came with blew up.

The cab, including doors, is the same as the smaller trucks. I'm not sure about the fendersand hood but I think they are the same as 2-ton, which are bigger than pick-up ones. The 270 is a great motor. It is a real truck motor. As GMCpanel inferred, the chevrolet trucks came with a car motor.
