Found a truck being advertised as having factory A/C, power steering and power brakes. I don't know anything else about the truck, other than the ad says "great one to restore." Like they always do.
If it really is a factory A/C, and not an aftermarket job or even dealer installed, how much is this truck worth, as a parts truck?
The ask on it is $1,000. What should be my offer? I don't know that I'd really want to put A/C in my Suburban...but...man...I'm torn between getting it for parts for my truck, flipping it for a little extra money for my projects, or parting it out for money.

Thoughts?

I don,t believe they offered factory air till 66. It,s probably dealer installed. The value is what you want to do with it & what it is worth to you. If you are getting it to part out & sell parts off it you will need to buy it for a lot less then that.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

If the accessories are truly dealer/factory equipment options, you may take the time to see it in person. Some of the well optioned trucks have other desirable parts, however if they are aftermarket, I would steer clear of it for a donor truck or rebuilder.

If you see it in person, do the math on the salvagable parts and go from there.

Good luck.

Yes they did offer AC then. This is an accessories book from 62. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2050481940071636143eaIxnQ
I'm not sure about the other stuff, but as you know, that stuff is hard to find. I'd go for it. Show up with cash and a lower offer. The mounting apparatus alone is worth mucho.
