I rescued this truck this spring from the previous owner. It has been sitting neglected since 1980.

I drained out the 27 year old gas, rebuilt the carb, installed a new distributor, fixed some poor wiring joints, poured in some new gas, cleaned the plugs, filed the points, dropped a battery in it, pulled the choke and stomped on the starter.

VROOM!!!

WOO HOO!

I am so surprised that it doesn't burn blue. Simply Amazing!

I'll post a small video tomorrow of it running.

Oh, no. We GOTTA have more than "this truck". What truck? Sounds like a stomp starter, so it must be older than 1980, right? And it might have some kinda six banger in there, right? Huh?

Guess I'll just sit here on the edge of my seat and hope this video will tell us more. Right?

Not mine Big Chevy 3600, that's Zeke's truck.
I was just posting the link.

Sounds good Zeke, so now what? Brakes and then take 'er for a spin?

Hey Colin!

That's what I had planned. Napa has everything I need. Hmmm... I hope they have brake lines too.

What's totally cool is that Napa's price on brake drums are 2/3rds of what other shops are charging. They must have a truckload of 11"x2" drums in a warehouse.

I will also have to deal with the tie rod ends, shocks and busted leaf springs before I take it out in traffic.

BTW, I found a nice, almost rust free replacement cab at SST. I want to avoid as much bodywork as possible.

Hey Dave,

I don't think I'm going to have the time to stitch two cabs together this year. My wife and I are expecting our first baby in December.

So, I figure that buying an almost rust free cab will be more efficient with the time I've got left.

But please don't crush that cab. Someone here will need it.

Zeke
