Is a governor for a GM overdrive the same as for a Ford, Nash or Packard? They look like the could be the same. Were they all build by Borg Warner?

if they look the same they prolly are - it's just a simple centrifigal switch that makes contact above a certain speed [rpm]

Yes they are the same. All were made by B-W. The solenoid and most internal parts swap as well, the main difference is really in the mounting adapter plate on the front of the unit.

Thanks guys. There seem to be more advertised as Packard and Nash than there are Chevy.
