Hello from Wisconsin. Two questions... the bracket attached to engine block, same from 6 to 8? The threaded rod... same or not? Thanks. Grant.

I don't know about the engine mount bracket, it is too long ago, but the rod is the same. You didn't state what year of truck you are talking about. On the 55 frame, the V8 mount holes in the front crossmember may or may not exist. ( They will not likely exist if the truck came from the factory as a 6). I had to make 2 pads and attach them to the front crossmember to fit the small block installation.

pins not the same Bob, just similar - see pics I put on Grants other post - the difference in the engine brackets is mainly the alignment of the bolt holes, as the V8 mounts are slightly angled on the block

Thanks, Bill, I never had them side by side to compare. I used the pins from the 6 when I put the 283 engine in, but that was in 1969 and too long ago to remember whether I had any trouble matching things up. I did that swap in an unheated shop in the prairies in the dead of winter and made the mounts from the 6 work with the V8. Cold fingers will motivate a person to "make things work".
