From Grant :

Hello fellow "Bolters!" Here are some photos of "R FIFTY 9". I hope you enjoy them.

After eight years of a 1930 Model A Ford, I decided it was time to change formats. The "A" went bye bye, and we brought this unit home from Bonham, Texas (just north of Dallas) in January of 2006.

It was a city truck its entire life, having been owned by a barber. It had a good life.

It is a very authentic 1959 Chevy Apache 3100, with a rather fresh 235-6, 3 speed column shift, and 4:11 rear axle. It drives very well, and has required very little attention.

We have put 4500 + miles on so far, and have had countless good times, conversations, and thumbs ups and waves as we enjoy it. We attend several vehicle related activities ranging from casual drive in type eateries, cruises, shows / displays, whatever we find to do. It's always enjoyable. My girlfriend and my 17 year old son enjoy it too, both of them taking it for runs whenever they feel like it.

Some improvements we have done: bucket seats from S-10 Blazer, sliding rear window, tunes, tires / rims, old style fog lites, and custom plates.

Planned improvements include: 4 speed, 3:42 rear gears, (maybe a v-8) and eventually new glass and interior / exterior paint.

Thanks for letting us share this great hobby with all of you. If you are ever in Southern Wisconsin and need help, or want to visit, feel free to look us up.

Sincerely,

Grant Dupeé
