on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 45 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 45 | Hey guys been a while since i have been on. I bought a 66 1/2 chevy the other day and already thinking of plans to convert the front pads to rotors. I know you can buy kits but looks pretty pricey to me. Any of you guys have any suggestions on what years fit as far as like upper and lower joints, rotors spindles? I read that a 70-74 would be was looking for something easier to have access to. The truck has a 350 already in it but the guy put a welding rod between the carb and the foot pedal. I heard a 95 chevy truck pedal and link would work? Thanks in advance any help in appreciated. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Front spindles are the same from '73-'87, so availability shouldn't be a problem. Just swap the balljoints and you're set. Chevy van '73-'94 and Suburban to '73-'91 are the same as pickup, too. On the gas pedal, the '95 uses a cable for a throttle body injection system, I'm not too sure how well that would work. You might be better to check with the parts houses to see if a repro is being made, or maybe Summit or Jegs for a cable linkage that's made to work with a carb.

Congrats on the new addition. I can't speak to the disk conversion because I only do the factory power brake conversion on my '64-'66 Chevy trucks, however the throttle linkage for a transplanted 350 is the same for a factory 283 or 327. Let me know if I can help you in this category and good luck with your rig.

I saw where someone suggested a power booster for the these (do you have any recommendations for that?) | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 45 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 45 | Tony is there a kit you recommend for the power brake conversion? | | |
