First off I'd like to thank you for your acceptance to this site. I thought it would be a good place for information on a 72 c10 chassie. The question that I have is; does any one remember seeing an article in a magazine, can't for the life of me remember which one, about installing a rack and pinion steering in a 1972 chev c10. I remember reading an edition of a two part article about 6 to 8 years ago, have long since thrown out the magazine but was wondering if any one here know of the article that I am refering to or know of where I could get this information. What I do remember is that it used the original front cross member and that the front section was cut out and a piece of angle iron was welded in to accept the rack.I do not know what veicle the rack was off of. The reason for me wanting to do this modification is to get the linkage from the steering column to the inside of the frame, now for the kicker, I'm building a 56 f100 panel truck on this frame.
The Ford guy's don't like this either,
