How much should I expect to pay for a decent grill shell thats steel? A guy has one down the road but one side is warped pretty good and one of the bottom pieces with the lip is cut off. Its actually in excellent shape other than those two things with no rust at all and the stell is very thick. He wants $650 for it and wont seem to budge. Thoughts?

I'd let him keep it & start following eBay. I often see radiator supports (some call them a doghouse) on eBay for a lot less than that. The downside is shipping cost but it still should be a lot less than that.

I believe it was Vintage Jim in Oregon that advertized one not long ago. To a search and check back in the for sale forum. He may still have one. YOu can also get these in fiberglass now. I think someone wanting 650 is dreaming or high on something.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
