I don’t know of anyone that sells a disk brake conversion for a ¾ ton, so I was wondering if it’s possible to turn my spindles down so a ½ ton conversion kit would fit my stock spindles. I have access to a machine shop, and the work wouldn’t be a problem, but I’m not sure it’s even possible. My only other option would be to switch out my stock axle and spindles to a ½ ton axle set up. Which would be best in your opinion?
I am not concerned about keeping the original wheels.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | I have put 1/2 ton spindles on 3/4 ton axles sevral times by simply reaming out the bushings. Surprisingly the OD of the 1/2 ton bushing is larger so there is plenty of material. This will only work on the solid bronze bushings, the steel backed do not have enough bronze.
