For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 866 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 866 | Finally got to start her up today. She started on the 3rd try. It's been almost 2 years since we started our 53. Found a couple of leaks, gas line one leak, front brake line at the bleeder and an oil leak at the sender. Still need to do a front end alignment before we drive her, since we installed a mustang 11 front suspension.. She sure did sound good , like waking up from a long sleep. Hopefully the alignment will be done tomorrow and she will make her first cruise in a long time. Didn't put the hood back on yet either, thought it would be easier to tune the engine. Will follow up with some pics if we drive her tomorrow. | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 |

Picked her up from the alignment shop today. My son who graduates from college Sunday drove her home. Couldn't have been a better graduation gift than that. He has worked very hard on this truck for the past 2 years. Still have a trans pan leak, I guess I will take the pan off tomorrow and replace the gasket. Thanks guys for all the nice comments. Sure has been a long time comming. 7:00 AM Rusty. No neighbors complained though. Most stopped on their way to work to say I see you finally have her running. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t160/sworden73/ | | | | | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 179 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 179 | Originally posted by coach-frank: I put some photos on photobucket today. Also ... those are Cragar wheels, right?
What a sweet ride, man!

That is it's natural color. A pretty close match to the color on the vehicle. Yes those are Cragars. They still look good after all these years. Thanks! How is your ride coming along? Did you get it painted yet? | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 | Wow! *That's* the natural color of the wood!? I think it looks great, man! I just love Cragars ... I can't imagine any other wheels on my truck. My truck should be going to paint this weekend ... maybe next -- I'm waiting to hear from the painter later today and hoping he'll be taking the truck tomorrow. I've stripped everything off of it -- mirrors, headlight trims, antenna, etc., etc. and took the gauges and all the knobs off the dash, too. I'm posting updates and pics of everything here: http://alanhorvath.com/54chevy/paint_prep.php
