I had my old original Carter W-1 rebuilt this winter and it still leaked through the throttle linkage so I finally gave up on it after 6 months of trouble. I got lucky last Tuesday and got a brand new (original box) Carter Y-F via E-bay for $93 (a steal I think). So I slapped it on last Friday night, fired her up, and she has never run so smooth and quiet. So the next morning I took her for a spin around the neighborhood to make sure I didn't have any major problems or leaks. Ran great so I took her back to my home town about 30 miles away and she ran great! I did find out I have a coolant leak in my heater core but no big deal. It is plugged off at the pump but the shut off valve doesn't close 100% so I get a tiny bit of coolant to the heater and it leaks through the old original core. But she drive like an old champ and I hope to have one heck of a summer driving her around. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions through the engine makeover! Gotta run, I mean drive! You'll have to bring her out when Americruise comes back to town this summer! I work in Lincoln, so I might even see you out & about. Truck'26 is exactly right! Enjoy it to the fullest! | | |
