I am switching manifolds on a 235 ci Chevy from stock to Offy 2x1. The engine sits at a 4 degree tilt to the back. The stock intake carb mounting flange sits at 0 degrees I surmise so the fuel is level in the bowl. The aftermarket Offy 2x1 appears to not have this offset so when bolted up to the head the carb mounting flange will have a 4 degree rear tilt just like the engine. My question ~ should I compensate by adjusting the fuel level in the carbs? I will be using 1 bbl Stromberg BXOV-26's? I thought about sanding down the carb insulators to give "0" degrees when mounted. Recommended fuel pressure is 3 lbs.

I was thinking about the same problem (dual Weber/Holley - Offy setup) because of the heavy duty oilbath air filters I have. I wonder if they do ther job so well if they are tilted.
My plan is to grind the adapters that connect the offy and the carbs to get the right angle.

Of course I can remember Dad talking about having to back up steep hills with the Model T (gravity feed) as it would run out of gasoline!
Some of the marine suppliers do have adapters, but I believe they are in the 10~12 degree range.
