I just had a quick question regarding the removal of the A-Arm shafts. Am I missing something or is it a matter of brute force to remove those large nuts on each end? I guess they've been on since '66 so not easy. Are there any tricks I need to know?

First I would try hosing them down with WD-40 then put a wrench to them, try tapping the end of the wrench instead of just trying to turn it because, like an impact, that jerking movement will bust it loose. If that doesnt work you could heat it up then try the wrench.

PB Blaster is great at helping to break the nut lose. It seemed to work better that WD-40 on my 68 c-10. I went through about 4 cans of the stuff. Just spray and walk away...have a Coca-Cola...and come back ready to teardown!

And a 3 pound hammer helps on that tapping the end of the wrench. LOL

I'd suggest forgoing the wrench and going to an impact, you'll get it done alot faster. Also, and I may be mistaken, I think that the nuts might be left hand thread on one side. don't remember which way it is though.

I,ve always used an air impact on them. They are all right hand threads. Sometimes if the hole gets wallerd out you need to weld it in to keep it from backing out.
