[I lost the name of the individual who sent this to me] Can some of you experts please tell me what model year of Advance Design truck this photograph makes reference too?...my guess is 1950 or 1951. Monotube shocks were introduced in '50. '51 was the last year for the stainless glovebox and upper and lower bars on dash. It has vent windows which are at least '51, But the door handles definately look like push button's which are at least '52. Optional factory installed turnsignals were introduced in '53, The turn signals shown there are listed under 'accessories' does that mean the same thing as optional factory? I wonder if LMC is off alittle or this accessory sheet is not as old as it is supposed to look?  Maybe alittle retro pamphlet? For many reasons stated above, the photograph is not for 1951.
It is not for 1953 because some exterior colors changed in 1953 (two examples: Juniper Green and Ocean Green new in 1953, replacing the earlier Forester Green and Seacrest Green, both shown in the photograph).
The accessory turn signals in picture were not RPOs (and thus were dealer or owner installed). Engineering Data Group...and We are talking about 1952...The instrument panels also had stainless
steel moldings on the radio grill & glovebox dr.
My 52 has the s/s moldings, plus the accessory
book also illustrates it...Not to say that later
on in production that shortages caused the s/s to

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 339 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 339 | Niagara, I was employed there General Motors Technical Center, Chevrolet Engineering Group.. and the AD Brochure & accessory sales catalog was given to Me by a Friend who worked in Technical Reference File Department...My Friend also copied every data sheet on car & trucks for 1952, so I have the data on all trucks, panels, canopy express, sedan deliveries, though 6702 School busses...If any thing You may need just yell. much like a library...You just find the information You are looking for, fill out a request sheet with the pages or sections, go back
