My old bible says for your 250, the timing is 6° before TDC.

I guess I need to clean my glasses...sorry. I do know that the setting for the 250 is 6° BTDC, so my guess is that your engine would be the same.
I will check my Motors Manual when I get back to work and try to verify the setting.

In an attempt to split some hairs, my reference shows 6° BTDC UNLESS you have a AIR pump, then is shows 4° BTDC. It's OK to customize these figures for maximum 'poop' without negative side effects...overheating or pinging.
The backyard credo is 'more is better', within reason.
I don't think I know of any engine that is timed to fire at TDC.
