So, today I'm workin on my truck, one thing I'll add to the list of stuff found in ones vehicle... a dead.. um, check that... a petrified mouse.

Anyway, just trying to figure out the windshield wipers and what was wrong here.

Found that someone had capped off the vaccuum lead on the intake manifold and the hose for the wiper thingy was just hanging there. I hooked it up and started the truck. Well, they work.

My question here is: the little nob on the dash that makes them go up, has to be turned back for some reason to make them go back down. Is this thing so old that it's actually vaccuum assisted, yet a manual thing?

Guess I'll go find a bridge to park under to wait out a storm.

You need to take wiper motor out and apart, the vacuum should pull it both ways.,or send it out to be redone. It's not hard to do as long as the housing isn't worn.
