Hi

I have a 1936 chev truck and I have recently cleaned up the fuel tank. Can somebody advise me. The steel palte in side is this a baffle? or has it dislodged it just floats and there is a cork ball inside is this to stop the tank form overfilling by floating to the filler hole when its full?

Cheers..Shane

There should be a baffle, there shouldn't be a cork ball. Do you have a float on your sending unit, maybe someone replaced a leaky float with a cork ball

Thanks for the info

I thought it was a baffle apparently the cork ball is an old idea over here often used in boats, when you fill the tank right up it stops overflow especially being under the seat.
