I also don't want to buy the new conversion after market kits if I don't have to. Does someone know what parts if any and off of what years will interchange. You can swap the spindles from a '73-'87 C10 to you're '64 by swapping in the ball joints from the later trucks. It's a vritual bolt in. It will convert it to 5 lug on the front, so you might consider using the rear axle from the doner truck as well to keep the same pattern all around.

That is exactly the answer I wanted because I have found a 1979 chevy I am buying already for the motor and transmission. I am also going to swith the power steering gear box. So after I switch the spindles and gear box what parts do I use for the rest of the steering(tie rods, etc.) I'm just not sure about the width difference in these trucks.
