I think I've read that the radiator has to be moved forward due to the extra length of the GMC engine. Is this right,& what is involved regarding hood modifications etc? Are there any alternative solutions? I'm not concerned about running gear adaptions, as long as it is realistic to physically fit the engine into the engine bay.
Do the same problems exist in the heavier trucks of the same years?

Rusty - I'm not anti-V8, but I'd go 270 for this project to stay closer to original & still have reasonable pulling power.
We've got several 270's lying around just waiting for a use.
