I have a 1959 Apache and it is missing the vin plates on the door post and the cowl, does anyone know if the numbers were stamped in the frame?

I dunno about the 59's, but on my '65 the VIN plate is at the top, opposite of the top of the drivers side door...

Ahhh, Thats where the little buggers are at! Dont ya know thats where i welded on the hat for the Mustang suspension!It went right over top of those numbers, What to do?? Hmmmmmmmmm, well maybe i can drill a hole in the top and look in there with a flashlight...........Thanks for the info.....
