Check out Jim Carters. They have the complete under bed carrier. It is around $250 or something like that. I have only seen one or two on E-bay since 03. They were a common item to remove and throw away. I am guessing most folks with trucks did not want to crawl in the mud to get at the spare.
I see it in new trucks that are in service duty..the spare rides in the bed to avoid getting full of snow and mud up in these parts.. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 | On my ¾ ton, which has an extra stake pocket, one of the previous owners welded a bracket between the front and center stake pocket. The tire is bolted to the bracket and rides on the running board.

I will call Carter's Wednesday and check. Most new trucks I know of today have the tire underneath, whether you like it or not.
I would have thought they would have had a side mount carrier on the outside behind the driver like many old trucks.
Another wierd quirk is, why is the gas filler tube on the passenger side instead of the driver side? | | |
