I've got a '66 C10 with a stock front suspension (1/2 ton), and I want to dump it in the front without buying a new front end. Right now the edge of the fender is 31" off the ground (measuring through the wheel center), and I'd like to drop it about 8", but it looks like I've only got about 2.5" before the A-arm stop is pegged. Any advice?

You can cut your bumpstops or buy new shorter ones but, again, you're only gonna be able to take it so far and the ride'll be rough. There's tons of aftermarket stuff for lowering 60-72 trucks. Get yourself some NEW springs that'll lower you a bit, then add drop spindles (while you're at it, upgrade to disc brakes) to get even lower. Don't forget all this will have an effect on your driveshaft angle. Pick up any of the classic truck mags. There's tons of ads for parts to help lower your truck. -David Kustoms-and-Sleds | | |

You'll just run into more problems cutting them, then you would doing it the right way. Buy some springs, air bags, or drop spindles. It just really depends on the stance you're looking for.
