The reason I ask is because my dad wants to convert his 4 speed floor shift to a 3 speed column shift and I want to know what I'm looking for before I post a parts wanted ad. I would guess 55-9 would be the same, but thought I would ask. We already have the 3 speed, just need the complete shift assembly. It's a 265 v8 if it matters at all. Thanks... | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | yes, any model conventional cab 55-59 will have what you need, engine doesn't matter

The '55/'56 have a 2 peice shift rod and a bellcrank for 2nd/3rd gears. The shift arm on the trans is also inverted compared to the v8 trucks.
