For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 87 Member | | Member Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 87 | I have a '59 1/2 ton panel. When I removed the rear brake drums I found that some of the parts were missing. There is a peice on each side that maintains the separation between the emergency brake mechinism and the brake shoes. I believe they are called "brake bars" and there are also springs that go with them. These are made of flat metal and are shaped sort of like an end wrench. I have not been able to find them in any of the catalogues that I have. Thanks.
