I have a '64 Suburban K10 with a manual 4 speed. My problem is that I am 5'-8" tall and like the seat pushed way back. Thus, it makes depressing the clutch, all the way, difficult. I'm betting there is no way to convert my current trans to one with a hydraulic clutch. Am I correct? | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 | '64 buffalo,
Do you mean a hydraulically actuated clutch? I think the pedal travel would be about the same as a mechanical unit.
I wonder if you are actually talking about a automatic transmission?

That would allow changing to a hydraulic system.
But I suspect changing the linkage to raise the pedal might be as easy as changing to a hydraulic system. You'll be changing the linkage either way.

Seriously, though, I think that Stuart is right. Even with a hydraulic clutch, you'd still have the same amount of travel. | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 | probably have even more pedal travel, and more pressure would be required to push it, usually. But a hydraulic clutch is cool | | |
