I was unsure if to put this in here or the body section, so you guys can move it if you like.

Our 47's cab had two seperate sets of mounting holes, before we had the floor panals replaced. We couldnt save this feature, as no new panel correctly are being made for it. I saved the old ones that were removed, and am loading the passenger side one up here for all to see. Does anyone else haver a truck with dual mounting holes in the floor pan?

This is one of those curious things that i wonder about. Are they only in trucks made in CA, or trucks from 47, or was there another use for this new style cab we dont know about.

I'm far from an expert on these thing, but it looks to me like someone drilled new holes to get a fresh spot on the metal to hold the floor in.

Well no, I thought this first, but when you look at the cab mount you see the reinforcing part inside it just like a single hole would use. This second hole was never drilled out into the frame of the truck.

My 46 has them in the rear but I think they might be drain holes as there is a 6x6 inch depression at this spot. Bob T

I just looked at my 48 and it only has 1 set of mounts in the front. 47's must be the odd duck of the A.D. series,

So was these holes used to bolt to something besides just going thru the support?

No, if you drilled out the frame mounting part, you would just have had a pair of them on each side. They almost make me think that there was a plan for something with a much narrower frame in mind. I wished we could have saved them, but it would have been a huge job to replace them, like there were, as the floor panel was pressed in that spot like the one you would normally use. There was also a reinforcing part inside the cab mount that goes under the floor.

There was nothing like that on My 52...It
would be interesting to find out the reason for it.
