For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 3 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 3 | I was wondering if I were to sell my long bed, how much should I be asking for. It's a 1964 GMC Long Bed with 3 on the floor and a V6. The body is in great shape, the interior is about a 6 out of ten and everything on or in it works. It's also getting a brand new Clutch this weekend. Any ideas would be very helpfull. ~Thanks~ | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 128 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 128 | To give you an idea, I just paid $1600 for a '65 in Texas. Pictures here: http://laanderud.com/texastruck/ I'd also check to see what they're going for on E-Bay, check the completed auctions for final prices. I replaced the clutch & freeze plugs, did the brakes, bed wood & everything rubber-I spent maybe $1500 & lots of time. Drove it a year w/no problems, drove nice but needed paint & one rocker was a little old black truck rusty. When it was totaled, my ins co valued the truck @$6800! I was surprised, I would have easily sold the truck for less. GMCs tend to be rarer but bring less money. For some reason they frown upon that and start blocking access to these multi-city search sites. Doesn't make much sense to me, but it's their site and service.
It's frightening to even throw out lowball offers on things like this, it was advertised at $2500 and I figured I made a low, low offer after talking to them and factoring in having to drive 2000 miles round trip to get it.

It was in some town in TX that I hadn't heard of before.
