I have seen references to a product called "Peel and Stick" on this board in relation to noise deadening and as a heat shield for the cab of a truck. I believe it will work for heat, is that right? If so, how well does it work? I have looked at the web site and it shows this product used in large pieces. Can it be gotten in smaller sizes? How thick is it? Have any of you that have used it had good luck with it?

Joe, you can buy the Peal & Seal same stuff at
Home Depot & Lowes I think it's about 8 inch by
15 foot roll. I used it in my 46 and it sure does work.

Its worked for me. I bought mine at a local roofing supply. Wound up using about 3 rolls. 12"x33' roll for about $30

I have used it, the only problem I have seen is the edges want to peel off a vertical surface in the summer heat(closed up windows & out in the sun) if there is nothing else to hold it up. I used it under the OE type firewall pad, it has worked fine, but on the rear cab wall behind the tank the edges peeled back-but good heat-a/c type duct tape on the edges held it back on well. No one looks back there but me. Deadens sounds better than it insulates against heat, I got 3ftx100ft roll @a builders supply store for about $100,,Brian

Hi Joe, it was nice meeting you at the Ballpark swap meet.

I bought both the peal and stick and insulation (the insulator) from JC Whitney. They both came in sheets of approximately 3 by 5. I put them under my rubber mat in my 55 2nd. The only problem I had was that I had to cut the insulation over the hump in the middle of the floor so the gas peddle had enough room to work correctly.
