I need help with the linkage, anybody have pictures of the "stock" type rod bellcrank linkage. Is the stud in different places from the 216 to the 235 ?
I have a rod from the pedal (banana shape at pedal end) can't seem to figure out if it's bent or what rubs the floor when trying to get it near the bellcrank stud. To top it off I have 2 different style bellcranks one is like a v the other is staight accross? Thanks Zeke

The crank pivot location is in a differant place and you will have to fabricate some things to make it work. I bent and shortened the rod from my accelerator pedal, used a 180 degree bellcrank, and fabricated a rod from the crank to the carb. I knew you had to rig up something for your 261 and I was about to ask you about it. Thanks, again.
The photo also shows your heat riser spring. The spring on my 261 was hooked over the post from the opposite direction. I mentioned in a previous post that the PO must have had considerable performanace problems.
1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

A large group of professionals built the Titanic. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 154 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 154 | Many thanks 4onthefloor for the photo, all though my bellcrank was different more of a v I was able to shorten and bend the banana, notch bend and weld my bellcrank more to an L, and viola it works added an adjustable bolt stop under pedal and if it was more along I could go, alas no wiring or seat, radiator, etc. But I now have pedals.
