The brakes on my truck are not self adjusting and I would like to make them that way. I've thought about just ordering rear drum parts for a later model truck and putting them on my '63, but don't know if they will all hook up right. Do I also need to change the backing plate? Any bendix with 11" should work. Some of the hardware upgrade you need should be obvious. Some, not so obvious. For example, The adjuster with star wheel has finer thread on the self-adjusters. At one time, you could find all of this at your local parts store. If there are some "old" parts stores in your area, you may be in luck.
