| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 9 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 9 | I have a 66 swb step side c10 and a freind of mine gave me a 86-89 suburban gas tank if I want it. Is that the right tank that is being used in these trucks. Also is there a diffrence in the tanks for the carberated or fuel injected truck or surburban or is it just the fuel bump that diffrent. Thanks | | | | | Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 181 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 181 | Some carburated sending units only had a supply line, no return line, where as a fuel injected one had a supply and return line. The tank should fit if you remove the cross member that supported the spare tire. (small 1 inch wide "C" channel)You might have to build your own mount brackets. Watch for ground clearance. Some of the suburban tanks were 40 gallon ones and hang low, especially if you are putting it on a half ton 4x2. | | |
