Hello all..tonight i took apart the old headliner in my 50 1-ton..not good,,there are rust holes above the inside sunvisor..,,about 2-3 3 inch holes on the "crossmmber" piece,,that holds the windshield trim on..Now i need Good advice on how to patch this thing up..(BTW this problem is only on the driver's side),,and not all the way rusted throught to the outside..i know you guys have some good advice..you always do!!..thanks in advance(design)...lol..
My 51 is the same way but the outside roof is good. My guess would be mouse nest and droppings. These old truck will have condensation and then its held there by all that junk. That's just my guess, after looking at mine.

+1 My '37 was packed full of mouse nest up there when I first got it. Gawd did it stink!
I'm not sure about that gen truck, but on the '60'67 truck, there was a seam that is incorporated in the drip edge across the top of the front window. From the factory, that got caulked and painted but the caulk invariably works loose and lets water in which rusts the inner roof just about the windshield.
