Looks likke a good project. I had to cringe when that pic of the bent pushrods came up. Ouch, I take it that the smallblock is going in? By the way, how about that crud that these old trucks always seem to be coated in? I spent plenty of time chipping Georgia clay out of mine when it was apart.

I'd call that Job Security! Will be great to see it back on the road.

If you are as thorough with your restoration as with your pictorial documentation, your truck is going to be a real winner.

Most folks don't recognize that the 11, 600 folks who are registered stovebolters spend as much time scanning the albums for information and new ideas as they do asking questions in the forums. You've made a significant contribution to the learning curve of present and future "bolters" and I strongly encourage you to continue to give the ole "digital" a workout at each step of the way. Even those little steps that don't at the moment seem important. Somewhere out there, someone can actually see what you've accomplished and can start the process of figuring out what you've done to get to that point. So what, if someone copies your little massages and tweaks. I personally think that it is the highest form of flattery to see others lock in on some of my ideas.

So with that said, I again applaude you on your documentation and wish you many hours of fun with your truck. Isn't that what it's all about?

Cool, a lot of pictures and work, but it's going nice and you're not forgetting anything, will be a perfect restoration. What is that V8 doing there? V8? You're not thinking of putting it in there I hope?

Thanks for fixing the link, Peg. Now to answer a couple of questions, the small block (305 chevy) was given to me with the engine stand. I need an engine stand so you get the picture. I did however sell the block on ebay for $150.00 so I definitly made out like a bandit. The 216 babbitt pounder will go back in, when I removed the head off of it the pistons had 0.040" stamped on them so I hope when I get it to the machine shop to have it rebuilt it will not already be bore too much. We will just have to see. Maybe by the weekend I will have some more pictures of the frame and parts going on. I plan on ordering some parts from somewhere, I was thinking Chevy Duty, what do you guys think? Alright enough computer pounding, it is time to get busy in the garage. My goal is to have the truck back together by the end of the year. See ya soon.

I know some people on this site have issues with Chevy Duty, but the stuff (no body parts) I've ordered from them has been fine.

I have always had good luck with Chevy Duty.Guess they have a different name now.Plan on ordering a digital dash from them for my 55.
