Why would any body want something like THAT.Thats about the uglest thing I've seen in years.What a waste of time and money...However beauty is in the eye of the beholder,and believe I'm a beholder and, thats a waste of time. Strickley my opion, no offence intended.

I'm all for rat rods, but I think a truck should still be useful. That thing sits so low, I couldn't even come down my driveway. I sure wouldn't want a bare metal rod here in Ky, my 51 got enough surface rust as it is without inviting it. :rolleyes:

Why spend all that effort to build such a rig and then pop in a 250 for a motor? Shoulda had a V8!

It,s different. I,ll bet it,s noisey too. When there is one bid on E-Bay is that usually the seller starting the bid?

I'm going to take a different opinion on this one. Although I would not personally spend the money on it, I think that is a great looking rig. I get tired of seeing the 350 with 350 tranny jobs. This seems to have a decently built, if not pretty Chevy 6 in it. It is true to the "concept" of rat rod, down to the tuna can tailights.

All in all, one of the most interesting "rats" I've seen. Next to that, my bolt might look pretty, well maybe. You all have pretty strong opinions about this vehicle, and your right, it isn't practicle to drive, BUT WHY DO WE ALWAYS HAVE TO BE PRACTICAL!

I like the attempt made to stand out. This one stands by itself.

Not my cup of tea, but I would agree with bigbad except that the whole idea is to not spend money on one.

wikipedia:
A typical rat rod is an early 1930s through 1950s coupe or roadster with the body set low on the frame, fenders removed, whitewall tires, big-little tire combos, exposed engine bay, home-made upholstery, and lots of power. A Rat Rod is considered to differ from a Hot Rod in a number of key terms. A Rat Rod is generally considered to be a home built, low budget, one off custom that is still often driven and has many flaws and/or imperfections. In popular usage a Hot Rod is now considered to be a high end, high budget show car that emulates the early Hot Rods in style but sports flashy paint high end upholstery and generally rarely see much in the way of road time.

The box in back really is an eye-sore. But the motor is nice.

You got to love those tail-lights. What ever happened to the Little-Oly shift knobs?
Any old NW rodders that remember?

It is different. Some unique ideas. Not something I would like to spend 12,500.00 on but I guess to each his, or her, own.

I have to admire the work that's been done to it. Some one has put a lot of effort into creating this rod. Kind of cool looking!

bigbadswingdaddy;
I agree with your assessment of it. I like the basic looks of it,and this guy obviously has a very creative streak in him. Anything different or unusual is a cool thing. But does it still qualify as a rat-rod if the owner paints it? Seems like that and chrome are the ultimate sins in the rat-rod world.

Hey Jim Bow - Somewhere in all my "junk" I still have a Olympia beer tap puller that had been converted into a shift knob (late 60's). A Lucky Lager one too.

Does that count?!
