Is the front end too wide? too narrow on a s-10 and how do i measure it to find out what i am seeking.

My question is i heard a 73-87 2wd short box truck will work on 55 2nd series 1/2ton. I've mocked it up a few times and the only problem I've encountered is the front rad interferes with the pwr steering. I think I can raise the rad a few inches within the rad support though. Also I think you might be restricted for the size engine you want to put in, you could probably go up to a 350 as I am doing but the original sleepy six or a V6 would probably fit nice. Now once the vehicle is sized up and the wheel assemblies are in the right places, perhaps i have had to move the engine back further, which would require me to change the length of the transmission's attachment. Thats kinda perplexing to me...see im wondering how i would change the distance of the reach to the rearend....
See in his explabnation in the link he says he will place the engine further back, so everything lines up right later including the sheet metal...so that leaves the question of the transmission's reach? can you help me out there....

Search this site and the HAMB for "S10" and "frame swap" and you will pull up a lot of tech info. I am doing a 38 and AD's are done all the time, so it is my guess that an Art Deco is a good swap for S10 too.
